vacation...

6 hours in a car with a baby who hates his carseat = not fun. however...disneyland, a beach and an aquarium = lots o' fun!

wednesday, we traveled. and thursday, we went to ocean beach where i thought i saw a jellyfish. turns out, it was just a condom. thank you ocean beach goers. ick. we sunscreened the babies and then i got distracted by the water and off we went.

we all got sunburned reeeeeeeeeeeeally bad. except the babies. well, ashlyn got a little sun on her shoulders. but my little biscuit just got more brown.

mom and i volunteered a while back for the "give a day get a disney day". we made a crapload of homicide survivor ribbons and we got free disneyland tickets. so, on friday, we went to

the happiest place on earth!

we didn't do hardly any "adult" rides except its a small world. because you can't go to disneyland and not go on that ride.

but we had a great time doing all the kid stuff. especially toontown!! my favorite.

we got to meet mickey mouse but jordan cried. he was fine with all the other characters, so i don't know what it was about mickey that made him burst into tears! oh well.

saturday, we went to the aquarium of the pacific. it was packed full of people. worse than disneyland in my opinion. but it was neat to see all the sea creatures up close! i even got to touch a jellyfish:

after the aquarium closed, we went to alamitos beach and wrote stuff in the sand since we forgot to do it at the other beach.

on a sidenote**jordan hates the beach! i put his little feet in the sand

and he started screaming and shaking. i don't know if i let his feet get in the water too quickly and it scared him, or what. but he didn't like it at all. he loves baths and showers and the pool so much so i thought, hey. the ocean is kind of like a big pool! he'll love it! oops. my dad pointed out that maybe he was scared because it was so big and waves were crashing and what not. either way, he wasn't impressed with what the ocean had to offer. he did like the sand though!

so after alamitos beach, we were headed back to san diego to our final hotel. buuuuuut....we got lost. we stopped 3 times to ask for directions and everyone was an idiot. anyway, we finally made it to the hotel (2 hours passed our intended time of arrival) and when we got up to the room, there was only one bed. for 3 adults. it was a king size, but there was no way that all 3 of us (plus jordan) would sleep comfortably in a king size bed. turns out that hotwire.com messed us up. again. that's 3 out of 4 nights that they screwed up. *shakes head in disbelief* anyway, the hotel gave us an air mattress and a pack n play and we survived the night.

so, now we're back and i'm sleepy and have to get up early to go return the rental car. ugh. besides the bumps along the way, vacation was fun but hardly the relaxing getaway i was hoping for.
