Hurry Up and Wait.

Here we go. Yesterday morning we fly out at 8:36am and even get into Phoenix 20 minutes early! Then we get on our 4 hour flight to Philadelphia. They're 3 seat rows and there was a lady that didn't seem too happy about sitting next to a baby. The stewardess (who Jordan was in love with) saw that there was a lady in a row by herself and asked her to switch with us. It was amazing. We got the whole row to ourselves and Jordan was SOOOO good. He was playing with the seatbelt and drinking his juice and stealing all our food. :) Then, he slept for a good 2 and a half hours. It was fantastic because I got to take a nap too. It was a pretty bumpy ride, but it was kind of nice because I think it helped "rock" us to sleep lol.

Then, last night, we got into Philly and this is where the trouble began. Mom's bag was missing. Her carry on bag. How does that even happen? I don't know. Anyway, a nice man driving the motorized carts told us exactly where and what we needed to do. And she ended up coming back with her bag. We got to our gate (which at the time was boarding passengers to Hallifax/Nova Scotia) and my Mom spots Evan Lysacek (the Olympic figure skater who was also on Dancing With The Stars)! She went up to him and asked if we could take a picture with him. Of course, he said yes so Jordan and I got our picture taken with him!!! I'm not sure why she didn't hop in next, but anyway....

Then our flight got delayed because of technical problems. They were going to have to ferry in a plane from Canada, but eventually, they decided that the problem was more severe than they originally thought, so they canceled the flight altogether. They put us up in a hotel but getting our flights re-scheduled was a nightmare. First, they put Jordan on a flight with my Mom by themselves and my Grandma and I on a separate flight. That wasn't going to work for us, so we told them to fix it. So then they put my Mom, Jordan and myself on one flight and Grandma on another flight. Which also wasn't going to work. After that, they put Jordan and I on a flight together and my Grandma and Mom on another flight. But they put them both on standby for the flight that I was supposed to be on the next morning.

While we were waiting for them to re-scheduled for the 3rd time, Jordan made a new friend from Canada, named Jade. She was freakin' adorable and they were giving each other high fives for a good 10 minutes. :)

We FINALLY get to the hotel which was soooo nice. They had fountains that Jordan LOVED and huge chandeliers in the lobby and I felt so fancy being there. Jordan and I even got our own room! So, that was nice. We took a shower and laid down to go to bed. Apparently, Jordan was still running on Arizona time, because he didn't want to go to sleep til almost 2 which is 11pm our time. Then I had to get up at 7. Not a long enough night for me.

We get ready and go down to the lobby to wait for the shuttle to take us to the airport. It's supposed to come every half hour. But it didn't. We got there before 8am and the shuttle didn't come til 9. I could have sworn we were gonna be late. But we weren't. We got here a few minutes early. At that point, they had pushed the flight from 10:10 to 10:45. We went and got breakfast and got back just in time to hear that they needed 5 volunteers to give up their seat. Of course, I took the opportunity in hopes of being able to get on the same flight with the rest of my family. So, they boarded all the passengers and bumped me from my flight. About 15 minutes later, all the people that had just boarded, got off. Apparently, the cabin overpressurized and they couldn't stabilize it. So, they moved everyone to a different gate to board a different plane.

Being officially bumped from my flight, my Mom went up to the counter to get my $175 voucher and was completely ignored by the lady at the desk. When she was finally acknowledged, the lady kept disappearing to get this...the break room. After about an hour, a lady came by and started talking to us. She found the girl that kept leaving us and brought her out with an ashamed look on her face. They finally got my voucher issued and then we headed down to our new gate. We got here and waited and waited and waited. Then, just now, they told us our gate has been changed yet again. We're at F7 right now and our new gate is F38. All the way to the other end of the terminal. Oye.

So, as of right now, I'm on standby for the 2:30 flight. If I can't get on that one, I leave (tentatively) at 3:45.

I hate Philadelphia.

Happy Day :)

Charla and I are doing the Race for the Cure on Sunday, and I got my shirt today! I decided I'd better get Jordan something to wear too. Funny thing, they don't make plain pink T-Shirts for boys...ha ha! So.....I went to JoAnn's to buy some dye and some iron on letters (Man. I love those things.)

We go up to the check out line and there's an older lady waiting behind us with this:
Jordan saw it his eyes lit up and he got SO excited! He was reaching for it and everything. We started walking out the door and he kept saying "Bye! Bye! Bye!" We got to the car and I loaded him in and was getting Ashlyn in her seat. The lady from inside walks up to me and says, "Do you have somewhere to hang this at your house?" Then she handed it to me! She said, "Seeing his eyes light up like that just made my day and I want him to have it!" I told her that her kindness made MY day. Then she got back in her car, pulled back into her parking space and walked back inside to buy another one (I'm assuming, since that's the only thing she had)

I just thought it was so amazing that she was so nice! I got in the car and told Jordan what a nice lady she was and what a nice thing she did for him. He looked at me with his big sweet grin and said, "Ni? Ni?" (How he says "Nice") *melted mommy heart*

We got home and hung it up on the back porch and watched it spin around for a good 10 minutes. After all the mean people I've encountered, it was nice to finally run into someone so sweet :)

Now THAT'S dedication!

So, today was Jordan's baby dedication at church. Well, not just his because there were 16 other families there dedicating their children.

I just want to clear this up, because apparently, everyone FREAKS out when I was telling them about this. It was not a baptism. It wasn't a christening. It was parents coming together to commit to raising their children in a godly way.

It was a celebration and it was actually a lot of fun! I got to spend time with the people that I love the most (minus my bestie) and know that they all love my baby just as much as I do (although, I'm not sure how that's possible!)

Jordan relocated some balloons to our table:
And we had yummy cupcakes (before we were actually supposed to eat them. Oops..)
Promised that would raise our kiddos well and got support from our loved ones.
Then we got our pictures taken, went outside to the playground and headed out for a celebration dinner at On The Border!

It's funny, because if you would have asked me 5 years ago if I would be doing this, I wouldn't have believed you. I don't even think I would have believed I would have a child to be dedicating.
I had a rough go of it with the God thing. But when I got pregnant and had another person growing and living inside me...I mean, that's kind of a hard sign to ignore that there's a God. Even moreso when was actually born. Really, what a little blessing was placed in my life! So. Awesome.

Anywho, it ended up being a lot of fun. So, yay for celebrations!!
