Oh my.

Today was a challenging day in parenting for me. I don't know what it was about today, but from the minute it started, it was a no good day for Jordan (and me too).

*He DID want to bite Ashlyn as hard as he could.
*He did NOT want to listen to me when I told him to stop.
*He DID want to laugh at me when I gave him a spanking.
*He did NOT want to have anything to do with obedience. At all.

I was so irritated with him the entire day. And I'm so glad that it's finally over. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. It'll be my first day off in 6 days, so it HAS to be good. Right? Jordan is always better behaved when Ashlyn isn't around, so hopefully that stays true to the pattern.....He IS a cute little turd though:

Also, he officially got his 5th tooth poking out yesterday. Maybe that's why he was such a stinker...

.The Dentist.

My pediatrician said that you can take your child to see the dentist as soon as they get their first tooth. I decided to wait a little longer, and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. We got there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Upon arrival and check-in, I realized that I'd left my wallet in my purse. At home. That meant that I had no I.D. The receptionist was SO nice and told me that if I had his social, she could look him up that way. So after that, everything was fine. Some lady plowed my poor baby over in the lobby though. Not so fun. He had some nasty cucaracha book and that went flying. That's how hard she ran into him. She felt awful and Jordan cried, but we sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" (my go-to "calm him down" song) and all was well in Jordanland.

We got called to the back and let me just say that I've never seen a cooler, more awesome dentist office! There were little T.V.s for the bigger kids, cartoony characters all over the walls and kid's music playing over the speakers!

A lady came in and asked some questions, told me how to hold Jordan when the dentist needed to look in his mouth and then brought Little Man and goody bag with a squeezy fish and a brand new TOOTHBRUSH! He wanted to use it immediately. They also gave him a little plastic bracelet thingy at the front desk that I added to the bag. She said the dentist might be a little while because he was by himself. We waited for about 10 minutes and he came in. He told me that Jordan could pass for a cute little girl (that always irks me.) and proceeded to count Jordan's teeth. He's only got 4, (with another one on it's way!) so it didn't take that long. He said he has beautiful teeth and said they would make another appointment for 6 months from now.

Before he left, I asked him if he would take a picture with Jordan. You should have seen his face! He said, "ummmmm....ok?" HA HA! I could tell he thought I was a little loco, but hey, he'll be immortalized in the scrapbook forever!
With all the books and TV, slide and rock climbing wall (!) I think it shows kids that they don't have to be afraid of going to the dentist. It's a fun and inviting place where all the people are nice. Hopefully, that's enough to keep the anxiety at bay for my little guy :D

All in all, we had a wonderful experience! So, if you're looking for a great dentist to take your kiddos to, KOOL Smiles on Craycroft and 22nd is my recommendation!

Stuffs.

**Disclaimer: I started writing this on the 14th, so it posted it as that date. But it's actually now, the 18th.**

Let me just say that I'm so glad Jordan's cousins are close by. I loved visiting my cousins during the summers, but it was just never long enough and now, I'm not really that close to any of them :( I digress...
Little Matthew and August came over to spend the night on Saturday and they had SO much fun playing together! But, Little Matthew is kind of a jerk ha ha! I wonder where he gets that from cough cough *mybrother* cough cough. He really likes to shove Jordan down whenever possible. But I think Little Man is catching on, because he can steady himself most times now.

So, my Mom and I put them both in the crib so they could jump (but mostly because then they would be out of our way) and boy did they jump! They were like little jumping beans! So cute.

Action!

So, I guess, the next day, he decided to continue his crib jumping adventures and launched himself right out of the crib. OUT. OF. THE. CRIB. As in, falling out of it. I was standing right there and I literally threw the clothes I was holding into the air and screamed whilst trying to catch him. I didn't and he landed on his left cheek, but has no marks or bruises whatsoever. I'm completely amazed. And lowered the crib as soon as he stopped crying.

Sunday was also my SiL's birthday party! We all went to Agua Caliente Park and it was beautiful. Well, it mostly looked dead, but anywhere with water is good in my book. When we got there, there was a couple getting married. It made me want to cry.
Anyway, we had lots of fun there and got some super cute pictures of all the kiddos!

And for good measure...
He thought those strawberries were WAY too cold!

On my days off, I usually try to get out of the house. I think it's good for both Jordan and I. We both get really cranky if we're cooped up. I was feeling sick, so I didn't really want to do anything, but I forced myself because
1. Vitamin D (from the sun) is supposed to be good when you're sickly.
2. I knew if we didn't go, it would be an awful day.
So I just drove and I kind of zoned out because the next thing I knew, I was at Craycroft and River. Since there's a library there, I thought "Hey! We like books!"

I love that Jordan gets so excited about reading and books. It makes me feel like a good Mommy for reading to him all the time!

When we got home, Bug wanted to "water" the flowers. So we sat outside some more and he found rocks (see below), loaded them into his watering can and proceeded to "water".

St. Patrick's Day was pretty uneventful at our house. We had the family over for dinner (Corned beef and cabbage. *gag*) and took pictures earlier in the day. That's about how exciting we get here in the Brock household.
I love these little ones so much.

I get frustrated with them a lot (I think they're both hitting the terrible two's early. And together.) but they really are so precious to me. I don't know what I'd do without them.

LOOKIE WHAT CAME IN THE MAIL!!!!!!

I don't know who was more excited, but we both love it!

Whenever we would come back to the car from a store, he would point to his seat in excitement and start dancing and saying "La la la la la" which is what he does when he wants you to sing the "Elmo's World" theme song :)

When I got it all put together, I looked at the little monkey shoulder strap padded thingys and started going crazy because they don't match with the seat now. SO, we went shopping for fabric today so I could make some to match! I finished one tonight and I'll finish the other one tomorrow....
Yay for homemade shoulder strap thingys!

And last, but not least....My baby is 17 months old today! (I totally forgot to take an official picture today. Idiot.) But here's an officially unofficial one:

My little love bug!

Updating.

My computer took a giant crap on me about a week ago. That was fun. Lucky for me, my super fantastic Dad is a computer wiz and he's obviously Superman and can fix anything. So I handed it over to him and he informed me that it was super corrupted and I would be lucky to be able to retrieve any data. I freaked out because I'm a picture taking fiend and basically have Jordan's existence documented on this computer. But he worked his magic and was able to get lots of it back. What I don't have, is on Facebook. So I'm not too worried. But now I have my 'puter back and all is wonderful in the world.

March 5. Zoo time! My Mom has never been to the zoo with the babies (by babies, I mean Jordan, and my nephews) so we decided to make a family trip to the zoo! It was a lot of fun and it's great to be able to compare how interactive and excited they get about all the animals as they get older.
We also got to feed the giraffes! SO much fun. For me at least! Jordan was ok with it at first but once those crazy grey tongues started reaching for the carrots, he wanted as far away from them as possible!

*My Grandma also bought my Mom a new fountain for the backyard, so we put that up as well. As it turns out, Jordan LOVES it! (Go figure. If there's water, Jordan's down. Except for the ocean.)

March 9. I'm a member of this super awesome website called HauteLook. Everyday they have fun things on sale at crazy discounted prices. If you want to check it out....clicky.
So, I bought a top coat called "Clearly Matte" and it makes your nail polish matte when you apply over it. Obviously. It. Is. So. Awesome. It retailed for like 12 or 13 dollars and I got it for $3.50! So here's what I did with it. Since I've never seen a shiny giraffe :)
Awesome, right?!?!

March 10. My Grandma's birthday! We made her a card since she's out of state and Jordan did NOT want to hold it up for the picture. Little booger head....But it turned out pretty sweet anyway.

March 11. I was driving down the road. I signaled to get in the other lane and the guy behind me revved his engine and sped up. I continued pulling into the lane, so he honked at me. **I know last time I posted I was talking about snow, but today, it was 85 degrees. Whaaaaaa?** Anyway, I had my windows down. So, he whips around me and pulls up next to me at the stop light. He looks into my backseat where bug is sitting and screams, "I hope your n****r baby dies!! Watch where the f*** you're driving!!"
SERIOUSLY?? All of this was YOUR fault you moron.
Either way, I collapsed into a pile of tears and had to pull over. I got Jordan out of his seat and just held onto him. Obviously he has no idea what happened, but I just felt like I needed to be comforted, I guess. He patted my back and then pulled back and looked at me crying and said, "Oh no...." It was so sweet and it made me cry more.

I just couldn't believe that anyone could say something like that about my sweet baby. First of all, he had nothing to do with the way I was driving. And secondly, you should just never say things like that. ESPECIALLY about a little one. It made me want to vomit. But I decided that I wasn't going to let him ruin the rest of my day. So I went home and painted my nails lots of fun springy pastel colors :) There's a lot to be said for finger decorations! So, I think I'm officially caught up and now I'm super sleepy (I've been at this for almost 2 hours now....*snore*)

Goodnight my lovelies! I hope you're having the sweetest dreams!

Snow and Lazy Reading Days

I guess I've been pretty lazy with my blogging lately. So, sorry about that.

It snowed here on Sunday which was definitely odd since it's the desert, but you KNOW we had to go find some snow to play in! They closed the mountain (Like they always do on the day it snows) So we decided to go up to the foothills to play. Well, we drove to the foothills and all that was there, was rain. So, we kept driving. And driving. And driving. Until we got to Saddlebrooke. The same amount of time it would have taken us to get up Mt. Lemmon, but it seemed like it took a whole lot longer....Anyway, we ended up in a retirement community of sorts and I'm not entirely sure we were supposed to be there. But there was another family with young kids (who were also, undoubtedly, not supposed to be there) So, I figured if we get yelled at, we ALL get yelled at!

Here are some pictures of our fantastically snow-tastic day!

Snow capped mountains with cacti? Seems weird to me too...

Jordan with his very 1st snowman!

Chowin' down on some snow.

Uh oh!

Mom and I were making him a "snow seat" and he got snow flung on his nose :)

Grandma and Bug with the aforementioned "snow seat"

A date to remember!

About to touch the snow cactus...OWEE!

HA HA!! Had to throw this one in here. He loves me. Can't you tell?!

It was so much fun and one of the best spent Sundays I've had! It was nice to get to do something new again.

On a sidenote **Jordan and I went to Bookman's the other day and I randomly picked up a book at the side of the checkout line. It's called "Mommy By Mistake" and it was wonderful. I have a horrible time finding books that I like. So it was a surprise to me that I really enjoy a random pick up. Anyway, I finished it in 2 days? Maybe 3. And I actually found myself slightly panicking when I was nearing the end. That's how I know I've found a good book!

I'll definitely be on the lookout for more of her!
