Something quick until I have more energy...

Today, Jordan grew up just a little bit more. He fell out of his crib today (making a total of twice) trying to climb out. So I figured I better get his bed up before he really hurt himself.

I wasn't quite sure how it was going to go, taking apart the crib, but I did it fairly quickly and all by myself! Then came putting the toddler bed together. One of my Mom's co-workers gave us a toddler bed when Jordan was really small and I though for sure we wouldn't need it for AT LEAST a few years. Guess I was WRONG.

I could have sworn that there were 2 really long pieces to the bed, so I went searching around the house and storage shed for them and they were nowhere to be found. After 20 furious minutes and an irritated phone call to my Mother, I remembered that there were pictures of the bed on my old computer. Which my Dad had happened to leave at the house a few weeks prior. Bingo! I found the pictures and groaned to myself when I saw that I already had all the pieces. Oye. I was looking for imaginary pieces. Awesome.

I attached the headboard to the frame and realized I'd put it on the wrong way. So I removed all the screws, flipped it over and re-screwed. Then put the footboard on. Then I realized the headboard needed to be where the footboard was in order for the side bars to fit on. Unscrewed everything, reversed them, re-screwed. Finally. I put the mattress on and Jordan was hysterical with excitement. I'm so glad I don't seem to have a toddler that hates their bed. Apparently, that's pretty common, I hear.

Anyway, I rocked him to sleep and cried while I realized that my baby is a toddler now. It makes me so sad that he's just....growing up. *sigh* I guess I better post the pictures before I collapse into tears again.

The last picture of Jordan in his crib :'(

I did it all by myself! (Like everything else...)

He loves his new bed!!

Safe and sound...I sleep SO much easier knowing there's very little chance I'll wake up to head blood on the floor.

Napping in his big boy bed. And because I'm THAT kind of Mom, I took a picture of the time of his first nap and inserted it into the picture. Don't judge me. Or do. Either way, I'll have a record of the time :P

eighteen. nineteen.

I just realized that I didn't do an update for Jordan's 18th month :( So, since he's now 19 months old, I'm going to put them together in this post.

Last month, he was 25 and 1/4lbs and 32.5 inches tall. This month, he's 26lbs 4oz and 32.5 inches tall. Since last month, he has managed to sprout 4 new teeth! All without any whining or complaining of any kind. He's an excellent teether. *knocks on wood*

He is so smart, I can't even believe it. He knows sounds for:
dog
cat
cow
horse
sheep
chicken
duck
monkey
elephant
giraffe
llama
lion
tiger
bear
alligator (sometimes)
frog
mouse
rabbit
car
firetruck

He knows and can point to his:
eye
eyebrow
elbow
toes
foot
hand
tummy
bellybutton
ear
hair
nose
mouth
butt

He can say or motion:
hello
bye bye
love you
newt
ball
bubble
balloon
movie
poop
pee
potty
nigh nigh
MOM
mama (grandma)
papa (grandpa)
ma (little matthew and uncle matthew)
BA! (zumba!)
bee (bug)
bath
towel
shampoo
shoe
pop (cup)
ow
way! (get out of my way OR get away)
shoo (as in: shoo fly, don't bother me)
go
dog

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm very impressed with his vocabulary! Charla's pediatrician said that babies his age are normally saying about 15 words. So, I think we're ahead of the game!

Another month ticks by and sometimes I just look at him and want to cry. He's so. big. And it isn't going to stop....I was rocking him to sleep tonight and was thinking about how he might be doing the same thing with his baby years from now. And that means, I'll be a Grandma. And how weird is that to think about??
Anyway, I'm so glad I get to have him in my life as my Son. He has made me realize that some things in life ARE perfect.

Mother's Day....

It's never what I expect it to be.

Before I had a baby, I always thought doves would be released, I would be served a fancy breakfast and a chorus of adoring people would come together to sing of my Motherdom. Ok. Maybe not all that. But still. A card and some flowers would be nice.

Anyway, I got to sleep in til 10, so I guess that was my present. Which I am NOT complaining about whatsoever! I love sleep.

We laid around and watched movies until about 2:30. Then we got the rest of the food and ourselves ready and headed over to my brother's. He made delicious hamburgers and hot dogs and we just hung out with the babies.

It was a very relaxing and laid back Mother's Day.

Also, I made the most delicious cake ever. I'm sure it was about 15,000 calories. Per slice.

Vacation

Once we FINALLY made it to New York, we had a lovely time.

The first night we were there, Uncle John taught Jordan how to eat Cheez-its out of his toes
April 21st - We went out to eat at Panera (YUM.) and we found a duck waddling around in front of a nearby store! So, of course, we had to feed it some goldfish!

After lunch, we went to Buttermilk Falls for about 10 minutes. The walking path was closed, but it was so windy, I didn't want to walk anywhere anyway.
After our busy day, we headed home and Jordan decided he wanted to jam along with me on the ride home :)
April 22nd - We dyed Easter eggs and had a movie/popcorn night!
On our way to watch Secretariat!
Making friends with Uncles John
And just because they're so sweet....baby feet :)

April 23rd - Science Center in Ithaca with my cousins!
A. They had a few really cute signs in the window for your kids to hold if you were gonna take pictures. So that's the one I chose.
B. A penny shooter spinny thing. Lol. They provided a bunch of pennies (several of which almost made it into Jordan's mouth :/) and you could just sit there and make the pennies swirl around.
C. Watching the fish. I'm amazed how much he LOVES fish.
D. Throwing a ball into the water. Jordan and Benny had a fantastic time with all the water tables!
E. Another water thing. They had little plastic plates that you could put in the canals to make the water rise. Then, when you took them out, all the water would come gushing down into the tub. They. Splashed. EVERYONE. ha ha!
F. My favorite picture from this trip! I told him "look at that gross snake! EWWWWW!" So he scrunched up his nose and said "EWWWWWW!" So cute.
G. There were some squirrels outside having a snake and Jordan could not get over how cool it was to see them up close!
H. Touching a starfish.
I. Watching another fish.
J. They had a floating ball machine and Jordan loved it! Some lady was nice enough to put her hand behind Jordan while I took a picture :)
K. At the gift shop. There was a bouncy ball with a little seahorse in it. When I handed it to him, he cocked his head to the side and said, "OH WOW!"
L. A 2 story Rube Goldberg machine. So awesome!
M. Making car noises.
N. I think it's hilarious that the turtle has his eyes closed because of my flash! That, or I caught him mid blink. I prefer the former.
O. Playing with Benny at the water tables!

After all that excitement, we went out to eat at a Mediterranean restaurant called Aladdin's. Normally, not my cup of tea, but it was delish. Plus, dessert was heavenly. After that, we went and got some bubble tea which I've never had before. I liked my tea (Green Peach Tea) but if I ever get bubble tea, I'll never get the Dragonfruit bubbles again. Yucky. Here's the tea house, since I forgot to take a picture of my tea. Then, finally on to the Cornell Plantations. It's supposed to be really pretty in the spring with all the flowers blooming, but I guess spring decided to hold out on us.
A. Right in front of the pond.
B. Ben and Jordan being buddies!
C. Livin' it up in one of the sculptures/statues.
D. Goober.
E. A gorgeous flower that Jordan trampled after I took the picture.
F. Jordan and his Kentucky Coffee Bean.
G. Sitting on a bench in front of a beautiful waterfall. You can't tell in the picture, but it was really pretty in real life.
H. Andrea, Ben, Elizabeth, Myself and Jordan
I. Sitting on an old tree.
J. Smushy face!
K. Another pretty waterfall.
L. Sunset.
M. He fell asleep in the car, reading his book.
N. This plant was awesome. It had speckled leaves and 4 different colored flowers from the same stem!
O. The map of the Plantation.

April 24th - EASTER!
Easter was a lot of fun. We had a yummy dinner and got to spend lots of time with our family. And we can't forget about the chocolate bunnies we ate!

April 25th - We took Grandma and Aunt Becky to the Chiropractor and took pictures with the flowers:Played with flamingos:Played in a pine cone band:And threw rocks into giant puddles!:
On the way home, we saw a farm of sorts and decided to stop
They even had camels and zebras! I didn't take pictures of those because I thought they were paintings on the barn ha ha!

April 26th - Havana Falls, Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake
Playing with the flowers.
Seriously? Does it get any cuter than this? This picture is my new wallpaper for EVERYTHING.

Throwing rocks with Grandma.
It looks like he's being chased, but he's not lol. He turned around and ran the opposite direction if they moved at all.

I love binoculars.

April 27th - One of the days we stayed home and didn't do much.
Checking on the tadpoles.
One of my Aunt and Uncle's dogs. CRAZY!!
Playing catch with Uncle Jim. I promise that that ball didn't hit him in the face lol.
Jordan saying "DUDE!" Uncle John taught him to put his thumbs up and say dude. It is adorable.

April 28th - Jordan climbed all the way to the top of the stairs, BY HIMSELF and without me knowing. Next thing I hear is "MOM! MOM! MOM!" I look around for him and voila. Heart attack.

Jordan's Monster Madness dessert. Yummy.

My little dancing baby.

April 29th - Going away lasagna dinner
It was raining, but he had to see the doggies, or the world was going to end.
The pond. He was pointing at some geese that were flying by.
Watching coverage of the royal wedding.
Cleaning off the whipped cream spatula!

April 30th - Flying home day. We went and visited my Grandpa's grave and then we were off to the airport. It was a sad day, but with a happy baby, it's hard to be sad for too long!
Visiting Grandpa
Playing with his cars on the airplane.

.Birchbox.

Birchbox might possibly be one of my new favorite ideas/websites. Only second to my all time favorite, HauteLook.

Birch Box is a monthly membership service. It costs $10 a month and you receive 5 deluxe size beauty samples in the mail. You can cancel the service at any time, although I don’t know why you would!

I got my first Birchbox the day before we left and I. LOVE. IT! Here are the goodies!

The "greeting" card.
If you flip it over, it tells you all the products you've received in the box and what the full size product would cost if you decided you want to purchase.
This was my bonus gift. I absolutely LOVE it. You plant the little paper and it turns into wildflowers! How cool is that?! I will be planting these guys immediately.
Juice Beauty, Green Apple Peel.
This stuff works very well. It stings a little on my skin if I have a blemish, but other than that, FANtastic. I used the Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer (below) with it as well, but it made my already oily skin, more oily.
Weleda, Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion
Yuck. I should have smelled this first. I put it on my face and almost choked. Let me first say, I really dislike rose scented anything. This was no exception. It has a VERY strong scent for something that goes on your face. *garbage*
Zoya, Nail Polish in "Jules".
I think it's weird that all their nail polishes have girl names. Anyway, I wasn't crazy about the color in the bottle, but I put it on this morning, and now I love it. It's a taupey champagne color. So pretty :) The color wheel has swatches of their new collection.
LIV GRN, Earth Eau de Parfum.
I love love LOVE this scent. With a name like "Earth" I would have expected something, well, Earthy smelling. But to me, this almost smells like fresh pineapple and jasmine. It smells heavenly. I wore it on vacation and got SO many compliments on it. My favorite goodie from this box.

Yay for Birchbox! Check it out....I'll post my next one when I get it :)
