.The Dentist.

My pediatrician said that you can take your child to see the dentist as soon as they get their first tooth. I decided to wait a little longer, and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. We got there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Upon arrival and check-in, I realized that I'd left my wallet in my purse. At home. That meant that I had no I.D. The receptionist was SO nice and told me that if I had his social, she could look him up that way. So after that, everything was fine. Some lady plowed my poor baby over in the lobby though. Not so fun. He had some nasty cucaracha book and that went flying. That's how hard she ran into him. She felt awful and Jordan cried, but we sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" (my go-to "calm him down" song) and all was well in Jordanland.

We got called to the back and let me just say that I've never seen a cooler, more awesome dentist office! There were little T.V.s for the bigger kids, cartoony characters all over the walls and kid's music playing over the speakers!

A lady came in and asked some questions, told me how to hold Jordan when the dentist needed to look in his mouth and then brought Little Man and goody bag with a squeezy fish and a brand new TOOTHBRUSH! He wanted to use it immediately. They also gave him a little plastic bracelet thingy at the front desk that I added to the bag. She said the dentist might be a little while because he was by himself. We waited for about 10 minutes and he came in. He told me that Jordan could pass for a cute little girl (that always irks me.) and proceeded to count Jordan's teeth. He's only got 4, (with another one on it's way!) so it didn't take that long. He said he has beautiful teeth and said they would make another appointment for 6 months from now.

Before he left, I asked him if he would take a picture with Jordan. You should have seen his face! He said, "ummmmm....ok?" HA HA! I could tell he thought I was a little loco, but hey, he'll be immortalized in the scrapbook forever!
With all the books and TV, slide and rock climbing wall (!) I think it shows kids that they don't have to be afraid of going to the dentist. It's a fun and inviting place where all the people are nice. Hopefully, that's enough to keep the anxiety at bay for my little guy :D

All in all, we had a wonderful experience! So, if you're looking for a great dentist to take your kiddos to, KOOL Smiles on Craycroft and 22nd is my recommendation!
